Working with WordPress

If you’re a WordPress user you probably know already how amazingly flexible it is. What I find impressive is that someone like me, who is comfortable with HTML and CSS, but only just beginning to work with PHP, can get so much out of the system.

I make CMS style websites – not blogs – and every time I make a new website I need to get the system do something new – new to me anyway. The great thing about an open source community is that people share their knowledge and experience and if you look around for long enough on the web you can usually find the answer.

Largely for my own benefit, I’ve started to record the tricks and techniques that I’ve found useful. They are mostly not original, but some of them can be quite hard to find!
